Biography
MacLachlan hwhen worked extensively by owning Lynch, foremost appearing as Paul Atreides in Lynch's epic adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune and as Jeffrey Beaumont in Blue Velvet. Late he played Special Agent Dale Cooper in Lynch's ABC television series Twin Peaks. MacLachlan reprised the role of Professional Cooper for Lynch's 1992 prequel Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.

MacLachlan directed an episode of HBO's Tales from the Crypt in 1993.

In the 1993 film version of The Trial, MacLachlan played the lead role of the persecuted Josef K. He also had a recurring role in the American television series Sex and the City, portraying Dr. Trey MacDougal, the temporary husband of Charlotte York (Kristin Davis). He portrayed a spirit of Cary Grant in Touch of Pink. Virtually all noteworthy to critics was his uncanny ability to capture a refinement of Grant's mannerisms.

MacLachlan has appeared around many plays, including John Kolvenbach's On an Average Day with Woody Harrelson, Harold Pinter's, The Caretaker with Patrick Stewart, Romeo and Juliet, and a Shakespearean history Henry V.

He is married, & sleep in New York.
